Their conversations went on much like this, casually brining up many topics I didn’t understand like ‘maternity leave’, ‘topology’, and ‘economic imbalances’. By the time they were finished, I could feel my head spinning round and round.
Ah, I’ve been here all night, but I haven’t even said anything! I should really bring up some topic, just so they know I’m not mute, but what to ask, what to ask…
“Are you two getting married!?” I blurt out.
For a single moment, the entire bar is silent. In the distance, I hear one of the odd humans holler a ‘way to go bro!’.
Miss Takane and Seija are both frozen, but Goro merely smiles and approaches my seat. Kneeling, he whispers something in my ear.
I blush at the absurdity of the statement but find myself nodding at it regardless.
