I think the physical form is weaker, especially once you consider they've been starved of food for so long.

Yeah, Karona was basically a really weak planeswalker. Old walker, but still. Also that didn't really kill her. I mean, it destroyed Karona, so to speak, but then that just became Jessica once Karn came 'round and helped her.
