Oh I see. The opened one was "just" opened or does it have signs of use? Or does "opened" imply signs of use? Or is it a big surprise?
I guess with Mandarake adding a 500 Yen fee on items >4,000 Yen it wouldn't make much sense to get the opened one anyway.

Does anyone have any of the MegaHouse Tachikomas here?

Genetics is one giant riddle currently. We're easily 100 years from understanding it enough to turn living creatures into clay. And even then, the usefulness is limited as no one can figure out how to make macroscopic changes in an adult.

Robots on the other hand are based on technology we already understand. The only thing stopping us from having androids right now is that no one is pouring billions of dollars into it, because there's very little reason to make an android.

Also, the practicality of robotics is greater then living creatures:

A robot requires a battery essentially. Battery technology is advancing, and its conceivable that you could produce a battery that would power a robot of human capabilities very conveniently. The android would probably spend less time recharging then humans do eating.

One human on the other hand, requires literally tons of food to support himself. If you were to create a human with vastly increased physical capabilities, they would require vastly increased amounts of food to support their higher metabolism.

Quite simply, biology isn't a practical alternative to machinery. Theres a reason we use trucks instead of animals to move our goods; trucks are faster, have more fuel and mechanical endurance, and can carry more weight.

And have you ever seen an elephant pick up a two ton frame and move it with perfect precision?

Quite simply, when you place an android next to a "bioroid", the android is superior in every single way. And the android doesn't complain about things like poor pay and working conditions.
