And it fucking is, it just throws this error the first time it's supposed to show the pencil, and then it runs perfectly with no pencil in sight.
If you're interested in doing the same, you just need to extract data.xp3 with a kirikiri tool of your choice, edit my_pagebreak_a.png to whatever you want, then pack it into patch.xp3. Voila, cancer is gone.
