Tohya looked pretty good for a guy in his fifties (at least). They might not be that gross, if we're lucky. If it helps, just imagine it like a decade or so before when it happened in the VN. Might even solve the paralysis issue then, if it happened late enough.

The crippling might have been a psychological paralysis, one that could have been solved when they 'put Battler to rest'. And knowing Ikuko, she might have even facilitated it. They're not married, after all, and she might have thought it would help put Battler to rest. Can you imagine that? Letting your best friend get laid to try and banish the ghosts of his past, not knowing you essentially killed him and made the original man come back and become a siscon at the same time?

I don't quite agree with this.
Wheelchair bumbler messed me up and almost nothing in fiction really does. Higurashi's ending is awesome though, only a bit hard on my suspension of disbelief.
