kpop is more malleable because its based purely on tourism. Kpop is subsidized by the Korean board of tourism. The Hallyu wave was manufactured entirely and it's the reason why Korean pop groups usually go to Japan/attempt to break out internationally once they hit national fame in Korea.

Perfume've got a pretty limited market because they aren't pure memeshit like Kyary or Babymetal and they aren't desperately clawing for westerners like the Korean groups do but I think their management is doing them justice. Limited shows that still sell well > Memeshit.
