"Just how does one acquire a wedding ring of such craftsmanship, hmm? I remember, you know. The memories I inherit from my reincarnations are primarily those relating to the Gensokyo Chronicle, but sometimes a slight hint gets through. A fleeting feeling, or a sudden flash of emotion. I remember wedding rings. Typically, they were never so high quality. A relatively well-made ring, perhaps with something to adorn it." She raised a hand toward my hand, clearly aiming to examine it. I allowed her to do so, which she did with the gentle touch that was so emblematic of the Hieda. She stooped, looking at it closely. Her eyes - I realised. They were getting a little bit weaker. "Yes, very high quality...Even the connection between the two metals is perfect." She looked up, squinting at me. "Who made this, Reiki? Tell me or I'll have to inform Keine that you were being rude to me."

This sounded a little bit like extortion. "Nonsense. I'm simply asking a question. Going to Keine is just one possible outcome." That...Didn't make it seem much better. Sighing and shaking my head, I told Akyuu that Yamame's sister had made it. "Your wife's sister? Ooh, tell me more. I spoke to one of them earlier. A...Kisami Kurodani, I do believe she said." I'd seen them talking - And, yes, she was the one responsible for the rings, as well as Yamame's engagement ring. "A jeweller? She didn't manage to say that to me. I'll have to add that..."

Tentatively, I asked Akyuu why she'd been curious about Kisami. "Well, there's only so much time before I will be too weak to work on the Chronicle regularly. I have to strike while the iron's hot, as they say. Another update? Hmm, I do believe another update might be in order, and - Would you look at that? All these sisters of Yamame Kurodani to include! Yes, I think I've struck upon a veritable gold mine here - Much as you must have to get the gold for this ring." Well - There had been a mine involved, yes.

I hoped that she was planning to ask all of Yamame's sisters before including them in this update of hers. Some of them might have preferred privacy. "Of course! What do you take me for? Even better, I've got someone who'd do very well as my liaison between all of the spiders in the underground." I...Wasn't sure I really had the time to do that. Not if I was going to be busy working for Lady Hecatia. "The - The goddess of Hell? Strange fashion sense? That one?" Her fashion sense wasn't that strange, I replied, trying to keep my petulance to a minimum. "Oh, it's too late for you! You're already corrupted!" Akyuu raised a hand to her head in mock-despair. "No, I think I shall have to find a way. Perhaps I can find someone in the village willing to put in the work, since you won't." She sighed dramatically. "Ah, even though we've known each other for so long..."

Then, she took a look at my frown and burst into giggles. "Oh, Reiki, your brow will remain like that forever if you don't stop frowning!" Finally, I forced it to relax as Akyuu wiped a tear from her eye. "Congratulations, you silly man. I was really unsure, you know. Keine had to explain things to me." Well, I hoped that she was less unsure now. "After that ceremony? Yes, I think it's fair to say that I understand now. Well...No, I suppose I'm more curious about what actually happened in all that time that you spent avoiding us." It had been a disaster full of coincidences, and I was still feeling bad about it, so I would prefer if Akyuu didn't try and make me feel even worse. "Yes, yes - I do apologize. I did worry about you, of course. Perhaps not as much as Keine did, perhaps, but I did hope you were doing well." Well...I supposed I could forgive her. For now. "Cruel!" She replied indignantly, slapping me lightly on the arm.

"Anyway - To my point, congratulations. The ceremony was lovely. I'll not forget it as long as I live." That was nice of her. "Well...It's not as if I have a choice, but it's the sentiment that counts, right?" ...Right. "On another note, Tell me everything you know about Yamame Kurodani's sisters. I want every detail before I can interview them myself and begin penning an update to the Chronicle. This'll be a big update, you know." I wondered if she'd be able to handle it all. Akyuu had been growing weaker and weaker through the years, and I didn't know if she would still be capable of writing that update by the time she got all of the information she needed. I hoped so, though.

"Is Kisami Kurodani related to Hong Meiling? I saw them together a moment ago, and the resemblance is striking." Coughing uncomfortably, I said that as far as we all knew, it was just a coincidence. Plus, I wasn't looking to reveal everything about the Kurodani family right away with no prompting. "No, I suppose you wouldn't be." Akyuu grumbled. "I'll have to put some more care into this. What about Yamame Kurodani herself?"
