I thought you guys were embellishing when you said Shiki was the best killer but I just noticed in MB Tatari chose to stall his ultimate goal and instead of taking Arc's form prefers to take the opportunity to play around in Shiki's body because there will never again be a body so specialized for killing. Elsewhere he mentions how Shiki's body is that of a natural born killer. More suited to be Tatari than the TA.

I wonder if that's related to the Nanaya karma stuff. Something like carrying on the karma of the parent and why killing was all the Nanaya were good for. KT mentioning Kiri being spooked because Shiki's willingness to live and die in the mountains was his own wish and another thing about how the child is a duplicate of the parent and Kiri wanted to see if he could choose differently. There was also stuff about how the Nanaya just knew how to kill from birth. That it was an obligation that couldn't be escaped as they were that sort of clan. And even if Shiki isn't like Kiri, because he's gentle you can see the similarity when he becomes a death machine. I found it peculiar how Kiri is described to have shaved away everything that made him human to focus on killing and it reminds me of the scene in remake where Shiki kills Roa's legs and just prior it mentions how Shiki has forgotten what makes him human.
