This surmises my thoughts very well. When the board's accepted topics became "clarified", the sharing and discussion of this type of stuff was effectively prevented. >>12952417 raised a point about an excellent topic that would have generated interesting discussion and analysis were this 2011. There's no comparable alternative to that environment.

As gay as it may sound, /jp/ was once a glorious mecca. Witnessing its systematic lobotomization has been a saddening and perplexing affair. In the wake of all the bullshit lies a wasteland dotted with dull, barefaced social media advertising campaigns and assorted nothingness - a grotesque parody of the communities /jp/ cheerfully mocked in days of yore. The centerpiece dominating it all being the featureless, boring citadel housing an utterly deluded staff that derive pleasure from immediately suffocating anything that could potentially cause joy or interest.

/jp/ has faces an obvious oblivion if it doesn't change its purpose as a board. The rigid set of topics that were decided by some faceless consensus nearly half a decade ago have clearly been exhausted. It's time to change things up.
