Here is an underexposed shot of a maiko from a few years ago.

I think I know which one, the one at dusk right? Can see Yoshinoya store on the right?

Yea that is my favorite of Shijo. Tried numerous times to get the right fell, and that is the only one that came close. Should probably try a different location on that street.

Glad you liked it though. Film photography may not be as flexible, or high resolution, or detailed as digital, but it is more than good enough for most applications. Plus it is a lot of fun, it is a very tactile process, and you have to really learn your hardware to get the best shot possible.

Make sure to post some of what you shoot. Haven’t seen very much film in these threads.

I have been way too busy with school or work to shoot lately, and I started using 120 (6x4.5) which I don’t have a scanner for. When the leaves start turning in earnest I might have more to post.

An old film SLR, and a modern ICL mirrorless.

I prefer film as of late.

Kansai girls dress so much more stylishly.

Maybe more, but Kyoto certainly isn’t lacking. And it is even LESS crowded than Osaka. Lived there the last six years and I don’t want to ever move (Though I most likely will have two in a 2 or 3).

I am from the U.S. South, so I am biased, but it is cold as fuck here in Japan during the winter.

Most houses lack central air/heat, insulated windows, and even insulated walls. I dread getting out of bed at times because it is just so fucking cold. Everyone is intent on being 省エネ, so what little heating there is is used sparingly.

Here in Kyoto it snows maybe once a year in late December/early January.

I hear it is a little better in Northern Honshu and Hokkaido, but still.
