I haven't watched virtual youtubers in well over a year. Maybe over 2. But I've been watching some hololive in the last week or so, and it's been fun. Mama's still mama, but I'm enjoying Suisei, Matsuri and Pekora.

Anyway, I have a question. Rushia's voic sound a lot like HanaKana, so Yua popped to mind, because pro VA and all. I went to check on her channel, and though the fact she still only geta 5k views per video made me chuckle, I noticed something: did they change her VA? Is she not voiced by Akarin/Historia anymore?

I honestly think in yua's case (because again, big backing, backed by the company that did the infini-T force anime) it was just a little side project she does for fun, her roles haven't been that big after yuri yuri but maybe thought being yua would be fun even if she's just a stick in the mudd with 0 ad lib.

And yes, that's the thing with these virtual youtubers, you're meant to get invested into the character they present, kizuna ai's team realized this and did everything to lock her away to allow people to get into her and it works beautifully, and now that's shes just about to get a nendoroid with good smile it shows there is some real power to all of this.

One thing holds true though, what the va's present is something akin to their irl selves, animeman on youtube confirmed this with kizuna ai (since he did a collab he did infact meet her irl) which gives us a better presentation.

They act a character who's just an extension of themselves, larger than life, for me knowing who the va's are is amazing but not something I'll tie down to the character, except for yua, script reading right there, even her twitter post reflect this, a shame because I wanted to like her
