Teppei being a shallow character in the original is somewhat understandable, given his role being what it was.

Sotsugou had an excellent opportunity to develop him more, but instead we mostly get utterly fucking ridiculous meme scenes.
Maybe the manga does Teppei better. At least its tatari fragments are different.
