the good news is that as long as you consistently read/try every day, your brain will get used to things and one day you just notice its a lot easier/faster, doesn't take that long.

what filters people is that hard, unpleasant crash in the beginning. if something frustrates you just leave it for the next day, btw, some things only seem to click after sleeping, for me anyway
