Also, to answer your question, both are the result of the Patriarchy. The same set of standards that relegates women to a support role is naturally going to result in a lot of expectations being leveled at men. A lot of sexism does affect men, but not always in the way "Father's rights" types commonly complain about - women can wear men's clothes, but it's more difficult for men to wear women's clothes and be taken seriously - something even a lot of feminists miss out on, is that this is because "feminine" things, things traditionally associated with women are seen as a folly.
