Riyu suggests they head to the servant room, being her original planned destination. Natushi is surprised that he doesn't expose their previous interaction, so she nods. They don't find her in the servant room, and Riyu suggests that she didn't find him there and searched elsewhere. As they pass by the locked doors with the magic circles, Battler lingers at the door where his parents reside. Maria giggles, affirming that the ceremony really has begun, and that she gave Battler the charm just in time. Riyu comments that she's remarkably knowledgeable on these things, and she continues her explanation, claiming to be Beatrice's apprentice. Riyu makes fun of the notion, but Battler interjects, with Maria continuing to aspouse her beliefs, pointing towards a new magic circle in the distance.

Regarding Riyu:
"This person has reasons of his own to defeat the witch."

First Twilight:
