I played through most of 2 and some of 3 but I just don't like them as much as the first. The maps are too small and aren't really interesting, the characters range from alright to annoying as fuck, Marina isn't in them. The first had its problems, scout rushes, dumb AI, but it was an awesome game.

Some do, but most Japanese gamers have trouble with the dual joystick style of control common in many Western games. You'll notice almost every Japanese shooter is third person and has an "aim" mode/button.

No, it's not just you, the game tells the story better so far and not as unrealistic about Edelweiss hax. Seriously, driving off 6 Heavy Tanks by itself?

Also the "player" controlling the Gallian forces in the anime is just terrible.
