Seeing gold bullion and coins and other shiny things triggers a hunger-like craving and sometimes sexual arousal in me. You could show me some expensive, rare chemical or a painting and I'd care more about some gold bars worth half as much. Unless the painting was of gold bars. Then I'd probably hang it up in my kitchen, so I can look at it while I eat.
