I know it's pretty hard but not impossible.

For example, I'm in pic related so I only search for those pink areas on the map.

The pink "curl" it makes is very uncommon so i looked for it. It took me less than 10 minutes.

You should explore a big portion of the map and look for weird shapes. Maybe you can look for the nearest mountain (the gray spots). There are not THAT many of those.
