Why is watching anime/movies/series/youtube videos in Japanese so fucking boring? I can play a game in Japanese or read a book for HOURS but I can't even get through a single episode of anime without getting distracted or falling asleep. To be fair, I don't like watching movies and stuff in English either but goddamn how can you guys stand watching anime?

I love reading and playing games in Japanese but sitting down and watching a movie feels like a gigantic fucking chore it just sucks. I cannot comprehend how watching a 30-minute episode of anime is a good time. It feels like a job to me. I would literally rather go to work than watch anime or a movie in Japanese.
