It's a loop. Playing the game leads you to knowing the themes. Knowing the themes leads you to enjoying the arranges. Enjoying the arranges leads you to actually enjoying the original themes and games even more. And then you can start to get into specific circles that catter to your music taste, and all the other toho shit.
Also, even if you just want to get into the music, play the damn thing. There's really no point on listening to game music without the whole context in which it is played, specially in music that gets such a huge arrange scene like toho does. Don't be another faggot who moist at megalovania, but never played undertale. It's not a good track by itself without the context backing it up. Which also apply's to toho music.
