this is my setup. 明鏡 usually has what ur lookin for though they don't have as many entries as 大辞林 and sometimes both of these suck where in that case 新明解 has a unique definition that explains it way better. the 日国 catches some stuff through the cracks i think it has the most entries out of everything. and then the kanji dictionary is for if u wanna know what a certain kanji means though it's also a kango dictionary

lot of times u just gotta google stuff too and google images will usually be a faster method than reading physical noun descriptions in a dictionary
