I don't like people who treat headcanon as canon. A secondary, if you will, but it seems this term is cursed in this thread. By that I mean shit like people who treat Momiji like anything but just a sprite and a background cameo in a couple of Aya articles and her comments on StB. That's as deep as her character goes, canonically speaking, yet some people treat her like she's a flagship character, mostly people who don't know shit about Touhou. Even met people who consider Momiji their waifu once, and when questioned what their favorite traits of her are, they just spewed a ton of weird shit they probably made up or got from memes, like "Oh, loyal and cares about her friends". So yeah, whenever I see Momiji anywhere near the Top 30 of a Tohosort, or people discussing her fanon on canon discussions, my blood pressure goes up a little. Such a shame, too, because her design is fucking baller and I want her to actually become more than what she is, but since that'll likely never happen I'll remain content with just reading Zounouse doujins and discussing them for what they are : fanon.

Also I dislike it when people consider your gameplay prowess the only legitimate way to call yourself a Touhou fan, but that's already been discussed to hell and back in this thread. All I have to add to it is the fact that if Touhou was "just a game" and a game alone, we would instead have a generic placeholder spaceship in each game instead of actual characters with backstories that ZUN actually bothered to make, and we wouldn't have shit like the omake.txt in every game to, you know, give some backstory to what you've just played. There's also the fact that there are players like Jaimers out there : he can probably demolish any of us in PoFV and has pretty much dissected all that there is to Touhou gameplay, yet he doesn't give the slightest shit about Touhou as a series (Or at least said so in a stream of his I watched ages ago) itself since he's just interested in shmups. Being good at Touhou != liking Touhou in depth.
