Jerma has proven time and time again that he can make streams with no webcam at all entertaining, a live2D avatar would definitely be a downgrade but it'd be considerably better than the holostars, assuming it was actually well rigged. It's not like he couldn't do shit like the fake prerecorded house flipper schedule change clip with a 2D avatar anyways.

The webcam definitely helps a lot, but the biggest differentiator between how he streams VS the norm is that he treats every game as a stage for jokes instead of a videogame to be played, and he treats the chat as a single heckler, an amorphous blob being that exists only to torment him while he's doing his act. It's like if the takotachis were rats eating his toes, it gives his audience character but more importantly it directly involves them in the stream because he needs to bounce back on them in order to complete the joke. Out of all streamers his audience is by far on the most equal seating to their E-clown, it's a totally different dynamic than any other streamer and it's infinitely scalable for a Holostars team.
