They expected way worse.
The expectations were set for ID Gen 1, not ID Gen 2. They didn't even think they'd reach 100k for months.
Look at these goals. They're all long-term stuff, and 100k was on it.
This group was formed in April, and back then, the predominant idea was that a Holo got their 3D Model once they hit 100k subs, because that was enough time for them to establish themselves and get settled long enough for Cover to make one.
If I were a betting man, I'd think they expected the highest subbed EN to be sitting at around 300k right now, five months in. But Hololive got so big that a fucking ID is hitting those numbers in one month's time instead.
Hololive has a dedicated, baseline audience of at least 80k diehards who are loyalists, split across all of the girls at any time, but for debut streams and 3D streams, they all come out. Before 2020, that was probably closer to 20k diehards. And the diehard to casual relationship is exponential. For every diehard, there are more and more casuals. So 80k diehards balloons to hundreds of thousands of casual fans that build up the numbers as time goes on.
Shit's fucking insane.
