Good or bad, I'm glad Reimu showed her a good Gensokyo welcome.

In anycase we know exactly what youkai are like in Gensokyo.

What hasn't Reimu done? Why should I worship a god who sits about helping out youkai when our local shrine maiden sorts out those pesky incidents caused by youkai in the first place? She doesn't even bother us too much about worship either.

Come back asking for my faith when your shrine maiden does something worth our time.

I don't know exactly how you are taking my use of the word 'joke' here, but it's always been pretty clear the Touhou series is meant to be taken lightly with many pokes at it's own characters throughout.

I'm not saying she's some huge joke character, but that her personality isn't serious. She takes things in her stride, does things at her own pace and is in many ways more human then most protagonists in how she deals with her duties. Most dialogue in the game is done in jest anyway to ZUN's unique sense of humour, part of that humour is how Reimu deals with youkai, to the point it often gets commented on.

Everyone is a bitch in canon. Touhou is a game full of bitches pissing one another off and then duelling.

Notable exceptions (from the top of my head, feel free to add more):

Keine (Fights hero team due to a misunderstanding. Actually trying to protect her village, later her friend)
Nitori (tries to warn humans off from the mountain)
Momiji (same as Nitori)
... Actually, just add all the MoF characters aside from Kanako. Even Senae was just following instructions from her god.

Reimu is a bitch, this I can't deny. But really, we need to put this into context for a moment; almost every character in Touhou is a bitch. Hell, even Rinnosuke acts like a total jerk to Youmu when she comes along to fix a problem with all the ghosts in his shop and get back a lantern she lost.

Reimu takes things from Youkai because in her mind Youkai aren't people, she barely treats the big ones with respect and it seems more because fighting them is a bother then actually liking them, but she'll happily beat up a Youkai she sees on the way home, even if it isn't doing anything.

Youkai on the other hand eat humans, even the dead bodies buried by humans. Some attack without provocation and start trouble for no reason beyond boredom. Reimu has been dealing with them as a exterminator for most of her life and now that the spell card system is in place she just beats them up now and again to keep them in their place rather then killing them like she once did. This isn't seen as a bad thing, Youkai are monsters by their very definition.

So yeah, Reimu is a bitch in a setting full of bitches. She doesn't think twice about ignoring people and doing what she wants and many others follow a similar way of thinking, albeit to their own ideals. Some kind of balance is found, but it's a odd balance, Reimu does good things and she does annoying things, at least she does her job. To the Youkai she's one of the biggest monsters going, but that's ok, their Youkai.

tl;dr Reimu is top dog and everyone else is her bitch. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Touhous are bitches, they have trouble not fighting every time they have a conversation. Hell, easily half of the games fights come down to one Touhou being bitchy towards the other with no real motivation other then a impolite attitude. Reimu's way of solving every problem is to beat down each likely suspect until she gets answers, occasionally shaking down passers-by for information.

Reimu fucks up everyone at some point or another. So it stands to reason she's the top bitch.

I'm on par with the top players here but couldn't even get past the very first card in the game on normal without seeing a video first. Do I fail?
