This is similar to what my perspective has always been.
I would not particularly hate FGO if it was not the main project. I would think it has a lot of dumb bullshit (but whatever, that's always been a thing in TM), and its story would stll be trash, but I could just write it off as another one to add to the pile like Apocrypha or Extella.

It's the fact that it's seen as the focus and Nasu shows way more interest in it than writing any proper VNs, or any type of novel whatsoever. And all the people (including people in the company like Takeuchi himself) try to pretend that it's the same as ever, that makes me genuinely hate it. FGO has ruined it last 4 years and I will never forget what a shitfest it brought, just hope the possibility of the Remake next year comes true so I can see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Is it that he'd already given up on those fans, so he was stressed out about losing Fate fans too? Is that why he's clinging so hard to this brand new GOfag audience he found, who still shower him with love and have no reason to suspect his promises?
Is he afraid of going back to his old stuff because those fans already know he can fail, and will continue to fail in the future, so he completely ignores us besides more shitty vague promises like "I promise you'll totally love FGO by the end of Lostbelt anon, just keep playing :)"

Even though they're somewhat better written and better made, these first 4 chapters have been just as filler-ish as the first 5 Orders in part 1.
Literally just an excuse to add new Servants while vaguely hinting at stuff from the actual plot.
Fuck FGO and its whole episodic structure. I can't believe they stopped making VNs for this garbage.

They do talk about FGO's flaws as a system that make it irredeemably a pile of dogshit from the start and will never be fixed, but that doesn't mean Nasu will just replace it with the "same thing, but better". I think(hope) he implied a much more drastic change.
I would be as uninterested in Gudashit as Hakuno, obviously I hate Guda more because they're awful from the start and belong to a game that was never remotely good (whereas Hakuno was alright in the first Extra, and their self-insert actually worked with the NPC twist, even if that's been ruined in further installments), but regardless, Extra mobage or FGO 2 would equally solidify my belief that TM will never produce anything good again.
However, if it is just another Fateshit mobage, I'd bet on a brand new MC, setting, and cast of characters.
