There is no definite answer. Could've just gotten blown away. Though some theorize Gohda may have used it for garnishing in his dessert back in Episode 1. The Episode 8 manga also shows him pruning it away.

On the subject of dropping the series, I think you've made a poor choice, but it's not like I can force you to enjoy the series. If disappointment over the solutions to some logic puzzles was enough to make you lose interest in the entirety of the story then there's nothing for it.
