Later in the scene, something extremely odd catches Hirume's eye when she's looking at her actual body. She catches sight of one of the petals on the sakura tree moving irregularly. She said it was impossible, and the narration states she felt her chest fill with an emotion she didn't not, she couldn't even give it a name, all she could do was swallow it down.
Kinda shocked that I just overlooked it when it was getting uploaded, but I guess I had my mind fixated on the Mithra/Kouha/Shota subplot thing.
