Edited from HF: Each of the 6 members in Tomo's gang (plus other major characters) has their own curse; break the rule and you're dead. In some sort of way the rules are similar to Sharin no Kuni's obligation system. These are what they can't do:

Tomo : being honest (so he must make lies, all of his life as a girl)
Rui : make promise for the future
Akaneko : touch people
Iyo : speak others' name
Koyori : explore new places with her own hands (i.e. not able to open doors to places she has never been to)
Atori: request help from anybody

However the curse gave inhumane powers in return like supernatural strength, high speed, mind reading etc. The story is about the characters supporting each other and discovering the true nature of the curses.

Nanoha is designed to pander to male action-oriented otakus anyway, with laser beam powerlevel and lolis. The formula turns out to be a great hit. StrikerS fails with baka gaijin audience because it's a multi-medium franchise spanning from weekly to monthly complimentary story in magazines to drama CDs, and no one actively translate them.

>Voted for Saihate no Ima, Mugen Kairou and Extravaganza but I can enjoy almost any genre usually. Lately I'm quite sick of action and comedy though. Well, the latter always works but on the other hand it never has much of an impact.

>Maybe I'll just let RNG decide. Unless someone can "sell" me one of those candidates

Ruitomo is similar to Saihate no Ima, in the concept of group of friends banding together in order to solve each other problems', and those conflicts are pretty fucked up (if you ignore the curse thing, you're dead). The comedy comes mainly from interaction instead of gags (like in Cross Channel), though some are Japanese wordplay and puns so they'll be hard to translate effectively.

So what's this game about anyway?

Someone told me about Comyu already; A Comyu is a team of randomly chosen 5 people, who are forced to create a team (a Comyu) to control an Avatar in form of big monster shit. If an Avatar dies, those 5 people dies as well. The only way to level up your Avatar is to kill other Avatar. Now you can guess where it's going.

Protagonist is the opposite of Shirou because he's a feminazi. If people die, as long as they're male, it's perfectly fine.

The scenario is designed so that every characters in the game has some relation with all this Comyu business.

Four routes before unlocking Kagome (true) route. Who is a kukri wielding mysterious witch (bitch) like Beatrice who can pawn literally everyone's asses without Avatar.
