Here's something to think about. Lamia family monsters all shed the skin of their lower body on a regular basis (probably a few times a year once they are adults). But how does this work with bunyips? They clearly do have snake belly scales, so are only these shed? Or do they shed the furred skin of the lower body as well?

And if so, does this result in a "naked skinned" bunyip until her fur grows back?
