3093505 here, Note that when you "bathe" in japan, you simply sit in a hot tub full of water. You don't empty the tub of water (unless you are the last person using it) either, every member of the family uses the same bath water, and it is only for just getting warm (I know, gross). All the cleaning and shampooing is done outside the tub with an extendable shower nozzle before you get into the tub. She must mean that she does it backwards in the summer.

I probably should have said "getting out of the bathtub" instead of "bath" to make it more clear...
