I really dislike how Higurashi spinoffs keep trying to do the "it's Higurashi but in different era" thing, even though it immediately makes it look derivative and unable to stand on its own merits.

Also, I guess the Saiguden now always had a simple padlock, even though it was a plot point in Watanagashi that Kimiyoshi had the original lock replaced because it was too difficult for Rika to handle.
