You're not a retard. It's all about contracts. Ai had a long career and she originally wanted to take a break to focus on university entrance tests before signing a new contract. However it seems she does have spare time since she does stage shows with dancing and is active on streams sometimes, so one can assume she just gave up on gravure which is very sad because she has probably the best physique in the industry and a super cute voice too.

I know it's a real tragedy. My dream was to see Anjyu & Ai in a duo movie. Regardless she's already a legend and I wish her the best and much success with her future endeavors.
