Hello, /jp/. I've been (re)inspired to make an otome game. However, I'm not quite sure how to go about this and I also don't have a grasp on what I want to do, setting or plot wise. I've only played one Otome VN (Starry Sky~ Spring) and read manga adaptations of them (I really liked Crimson Empire, for the few chapters I read). So I come here for some help. A few questions:

> What makes otomes shitty/good?
> Would you prefer an upbeat, cheerful protagonist or a quiet, almost emotionless one? Younger or older? Or some other archetype?
> How many routes is too many?
> Suggestions on what character archetypes I should/shouldn't use?
> Any other comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd really like to hear from you guys. :3
