Yoshiki has an amazing technical knowledge and that helped to make power ballads like Endless Rain beautiful but many songs tend to sound similar and cheesy.
hide was more creative, experimental and polyhedric, and that's easy to notice in his solo, Spread Beaver and Zilch careers.
