I really like Touhou and I don't like this stuff at all. However, I'd just like some insight from others who like Touhou, if any of you actually lurk here. If these artists like touhou, why do they like to imagine them as nothing but useless objects? Why do they like to draw them suffering? Are they just in it for the money? I don't see how any of them care about Touhou at all except for the character designs and the money. There's no individuality in them, like each artist copies off of each other without any actual love or passion. Are they all just insane? Or profiting off of ZUN's success? I would like to understand more.
