That one anon who talked about hobbies was completely right. NEET life will depress and destroy your life in a long run and wageslaving in a unfulfilling job with nothing else to do besides mindless consuming will suck your soul into an empty husk. Now that I learned how to draw and speak Japanese I can make dreams a reality (in digital form) from which hopefully many can attain enjoyment through masturbating to drawings. Not having an ability to create something new really started to bother me in my early 20s and now that ability brings joy to my life.

Thanks to employment (and education) I could afford to buy +100 manga volumes and +100 doujinshi plus ~40 albums of music last year through proxy services. It's expensive but since I live frugally beyond that I also have good savings so once COVID ends I'll visit Comiket every year at least once and never suffer from financial stress. It does beat NEETdom, which I have a short history off, during which despite its short length I started to suffer from the classic problems that come with the NEET lifestyle like running out of entertainment to consume, not being able to eat good food and the slowly creeping inescapable feeling of hopelessness of your own future. NEET life is alluring when you have responsibilities yet its a false promise of an easy life.
