also kind of a long post but I don't hare, here is some insight:

like more than half of kizuna's subscribers are not real fans, but normalfags who just subbed because she was a novelty, at the moment she started.

second, she never built a streaming fanbase, she did nico-nico videos then cropped the good parts and put them on youtube, never did talk streams to connect with an audience.

third, the whole "kizuna's VA is being replaced" yabai moment where pretty much the entire core fanbase declared her dead, not to mention this happened at the same time the holos and nijis (and even the indies) where gaining momentum, so the fans realized there where much better vtubers to support at the moment.

fourth, kizuna is no longer unique, there are now vtubers for all kind of audiences, so the core has pretty much moved to different vtubers.

fifth, kizuna feels corporate, the vtuber audience now seeks authenticity in all kind of different forms, kizuna literally never talks about her personal life because she is literally a corporate character that can be replaced anytime her overlods desire it.

tl:dr, kizuna is the Pacman of vtubers, everyone knows her but she is no one's favorite vtuber save for the normalfags that are still stuck in 2017.
