agreed, Ryukishi probably cared at the beginning (there are 4 alternate outfits in episode 2 after all) but he probably gave up considering how many different characters he had to draw for episode 3, 4 and Chiru (there's like 40-45 different characters that have sprites in Umineko, while there are only 18 different characters that have sprites in Higurashi)
