It took this long for the correct opinion to be posted. Same thing happened with Rumia, where he intended her to be localized as Lumia (making a reference to the Latin word "lumen" meaning "light") since Japs pronounce /l/ as /r/. But the game got translated so fast that the translators went with the literal Japanese, consequences be damned..

If Pokemon names can be localized, I don't see why the occasional Touhou can't be localized too.
