Ah and for a follow-up, I recommend also learning at least one cutting weapon. You're not getting tails with a hammer otherwise

For tips: 1. You have the highest stun value among weapons, so aim for the head, 2. You can move around while charging, when you recognize monster patterns you can use this to sidestep some attacks and go in for big damage
3. You can break parts but not cut tails, your big raw damage makes you good at this.
4. Some monsters are very vulnerable to being knocked over (mainly wyverns/bird wyverns, practice on Aknosom, Rathian, Rathalos and Diablos), hit their legs for free damage!
5. Enjoy, fellow 35P! I recommend finding the weapon(s) that feels right for you more than anything. and try to play with friends if you get the option... Nothing beats hunting with the bros. t. MHFU Vet GS/Hammer/Bow main 35P
