This is probably the worst "first event" for a new player to experience, with Autumn 2014 being the best (easiest) with arguably the best rewards (Akizuki E2, Prinz E3) seeing as nothing in 2015 Winter/Spring/Summer come close except maybe the Pasta BBs who have screw guzzling guns. Spring 2014 wasn't that bad either other than E5/E6 farming which a new player wouldn't bother with anyway.

The sheer number of combat ready ships (36) required and the multitude of combined fleet maps with locks already ensure new players are fucked unless they go NEET for weeks before the event. Couple that with E3 easy being a big shithole and easy win CLTs being banned everywhere its a disaster. I cruised to a relatively easy hard mode clear with my hotels/bisko/etc but its hard to not feel sorry for the new players.
