it's too bad 2hu, especially the side games, hardly have much dialogue or story, it'd be fun to explore that a bit more

Indeed. Even though she's clearly an edgy kid(which is why some have grimmer ideas about her), she doesn't work hundred percent in reverse. But she does need to be enough reverse to live. Also her plan may not be necessarily evil but on the viewpoint of some (humans in the human village, Reimu etc.) she is a villain.
