Everytime I see screenshots of Higurashi and Umineko in their original form I remember why I loved them so much. They just look so charming. Now I have no doubt they are Ryuukishi's magnum opus.

Being exposed to the increasingly bastardized, cheap-looking re-releases on the internet had slowly dilluted them in my mind and made me lose a bit of my love for them. I should probably avoid that shit as much as possible.
