before pd48, there was pd101, and it made a kpop group called IOI. they were super popular in korea and with international kpop fans.
however, the fame of the group failed completely to transfer to the majority of the groups the 11 girls dispersed to after the 101 contract was finished. companies were banking on the built-in celeb status and following of 1 or 2 girls and then built a group around them, that in most cases failed. one of the groups has already disbanded, leaving a former ioi member pretty much out of work
hitomi especially is in a wide open position. the korean girls in izone have contracts to return to with their labels, sakura can probably do whatever and still be famous, nako can probably negotiate something good with hkt.
but what does hitomi do for t8? what does t8 do for hitomi? she seems like she can do anything, stay in korea, go to japan, and she just has to decide and negotiate, but the thing she can't do is overestimate how much of the popularity of izone will transfer to her as an individual
