Maybe it means they're no longer maintaining the archiving code, so if 4chan changes something that breaks their code, no one will fix it. I'm not sure if that's right, but at least they're still paying their server fees, though it's been less than a year since that message. Maybe they stopped server payments too and their current payment term will expire after a year or more. That's why you should save images you like, since warosu might die.
I don't know how hard running an imageboard archive is. Maybe theres maintained free software for it. Then it would just be a matter of server storage costs. Maybe storing all those full-size images and webms are why warosu is apparently struggling while archived.moe, whcih only archives the thumbnails, is fine. It's impressive how warosu provides archives of everything for free.
