While Koshka has a lot going on for her, I think there's no trick in the protagonist. Miyao+Meow has too much central aspects to the story, the direct relationship with Tojirou and almost certainly Vier makes them the most important.
Maybe Meow is actually secretly more important, maybe not. Maybe they have an unknown third alter, maybe not. But being directly related to the antagonistic forces is too much to skip on. This platform will be the one to lead the story.
