So this is what happens after years of threads on /v/ and that one invasion I'd rather not bring up. Instead of taking it easy and enjoying new game releases, people instead use their threads to force game wars and insist that everything is shit.
Poor poor /jp/, I hoped you'd resist the downwards spiral of the internet a bit longer.

So Touhou on Steam really does have (basic) DRM after all. I've been lied to.
I'm replacing my version with ZUN'd CD rip as soon as a physical release comes out.

Really, I've never cared about THCrap before. I've always found it pointless to have a self-updating translation patch that keeps constantly trying to ensure your currently installed translations are up-to-date, seriously what was wrong with having normal standalone translation patches? And then a few years later, its community has grown to such a level that we got about everything that's happened in these past two threads. I know the Touhou community in general has been getting more and more cancerous in time, but god damn it I somehow never expected it to reflect this badly on the translation scene for this series. Speaking about translations as well, I don't know if it's because I have more experience with Japanese or because I've seen many nightmarish localizations ever since I first found out about Touhou, but holy shit there are a lot of outright disgusting translation choices for this series in general.
In the end, I guess what I want to say is that especially after seeing these threads, I really don't want to involve myself with THCrap. Both the people in charge of its decisions and the community surrounding it make me want to vomit. I have no interest in providing my own translation either because I see no point in that, other than maybe proving to one anonymous faggot that I can do it (and I see no point in that either).
