Aya Hirano, seiyuu of Haruhi Suzumiya, lamented death threats by otaku

"It has been a while since I shifted my focus to the world of the stage, but when I work in animation, I still get death threats and people make a fuss about things that are not true.
This time, due to a number of factors, the police were able to save the day, but while I would like to help preserve great works for future generations and spread them abroad as part of our culture, I cannot help but feel that it is very healthy to work in a situation where some radical fans can put your life in danger.
I don't think it is healthy to work in a situation where I feel my life is in danger because of some radical fans.
The thought of not wanting to be involved in such a world is crushing my desire to simply perform well for the sake of the work and to do the best I can with the work I have been given.
Still, I say, "It's your fault for working with nerds.
Is that right?
I could just quit my job in animation, but I can't just turn a blind eye to it, so I thought I'd post this."
