Is grooming in crows reserved for only their mates? I can't really find any information about it but whenever I read about crows grooming each other they're always mates.

Is it a sensitive place for any birds?

I don't know about other youkai but crow tengu supposedly had two meter long wingspans, a beak, and hatched out of giant eggs, and some depictions covered them entirely with feathers and gave them talons, so I think they're closely related to birds.

But doing some research on birds I found that they don't really have a mating season nor do they go into heat. Captive birds breed all-year round, so I would assume that would be the case for crow tengu since they're not slaves to the seasons. But an interesting tidbit I did find is that female birds do masturbate when they become sexually mature.
